New A8 Desktop Icons

Hello there my 3DGS family! I got bored today and decided to revamp the A8 desktop icons. I use rocket dock and all of my icons look shiny and new, except the 3DGS icons. So I brushed off my photoshop skills and went to work making some new icons. What do you think? I tried to stay as close to the original icon colors as I could.

LED (if it's IED) looks kind of odd

Yea, its "IED". Icon Editor. And thanks! I tried to use a bold/modern looking font

They look pretty good, esp. the font. Why don't you ask JCL if he wants to use them?

Thanks for the support guys, and Ive already messaged JCL about using these. I dont mind really, I put them up here for anyone to use. I only ask if theyre used by JCL just to credit me as I'm trying to build my portfolio and I need as much help as I can get lol

I don't think changing icons will make you a better game creator
I would prefer a lot to change WED and MED windows look ,and icons look instead if it was possible.

I don't like the "washed" effect, i don't like the brightness on the upper of the icon, i find there is too much colors, i would prefer simple patterns.

maybe making the drop shadow of the text a bit smoother would look better... (or should it be a 3d-effect?)

Please show 32x32 and 64x64 because everytime I do icons with such a big size I am always suprised how bad it looks when I scale it down.

last one looks awesome bur as kartoffel said, the shadow thing could be less obvious and less spread

32x32 and 16x16 versions could use a larger font size. (it could span from one side to other side of the icon)

I'm glad you've worked that out for yourself, I'd hate to think how many hours/days/weeks you could have wasted thinking that improving the icon would ever improve something you do...

as for contructive critics for exile's version - i think that the intervals between 's'/'e' and 'e'/'d' should be equal, at the moment the caption looks like 's ed'.
on 32x32 and 16x16 variants 'lite-c' can be omitted, as it's no longer visible, this way 'sed', 'wed' etc will be more distinct.

and yes, even now these icons are way better than 'official' ones. good work!

i know what do the letters stand for, but currently it looks like he just used a monospaced font with 'jumpy' intervals. i find it distracting.

I like the general idea Machera had. So I decided to roll with it. All credit goes to him!

It looks like you've not attached the lettering to the cube because of the strange shadowing angles.

Mr guest is right here, especially the shadow of the 8 looks a bit weird.
but it doesn't matter at all if you scale it down to 64x64.
