Feewww :700 $ for Pro version ?
Don't you think it's too much ?
I'm not interested but for other people perhaps ?

Yes once you are in with Unity, a big world of new possibilities open up laugh (could it be game making or tools programming)

700€ is not really much for an up-2-date engine, that is active right now..

If you see on the other hand, that buying a NEW one.. costs 798,49€

means.. i´m nearly 100€ under Conitec pricing.

sorry espér, but this price fantasy is so fucking beyond reality. Everybody knows, that acknex is really a good engine with much possibility but with old school workflow.
The majority goes the same way as you did. They change to unity.
So a realistic price for the a8pro takes place between 200 and 230.
Believe me, The official price on the web page is just a political instument.

Well if you're looking for a reason to sell it for cheaper, I remember reading somewhere that Conitec limits a license to being sold only once. In other words, the person who buys it will not be able to re-sell the key.

anyway, Espér, it's sad that you leave 3dgs, but it can be understood.

Re: Selling my A8 pro & ANet Pro - 02/16/13 12:32

Technology is always changing.
From OpenGl, DirectX, 3D engines, editors, open AAA engines, mobile evolution, new indie consoles ...

Well it's my personnal opinion, but having fun on Unity workflow, workflow is direct, you wont' waste time with a second tool(MED), you create directly, you choose shader in the list ... what to say , just great.

--------------------

As time goes, i have less and less time for 3D,that's why loosing time or beeing stucked on basic stuff like terrain, shaders, import becomes more and more impossible.

So i keep using 3DGS caus i like it a lot, but i use it just as second 3D engine, not for the main project.
Just let's hope it will rise again and bring totally new changes.

i'm not leaving completely wink
But cause i'm now in a development team, wich is based on unity. And i'm much better in C# and OoP, Unity is the better solution for me.

Ilove Acknex Engine, that's why i want to watch, comment and help here in future, too. And perhaps, A-Engine will get improved alot to fit newer Projects. That could be a reason for me to switch back.

After workflow, i tested some script.
But now i'm digging C# with Mono.
A,d all workflow or switch from code to Unity is so natural, you clik on script and Unity just call Mono to display the Class, you modify code, than just press Play in Unity to test.
SO SMOOTH.

And i just tested the Clock C# example, it's just simple and easy.

C# Clock tutorial

And these first chapters are very great for making an RPG in c# :
hack and slash RPG with Unity C# tutorial

----------------

Yes , it's so easy with that type of workflow, i understand why lot of pople fall in love with Unity even some people coming from UT3 with some cool projects.

But the Black point is :
- Expensive Pro
- Pay for each mobile platform 400$ for basic , lot more for Pro
Yes it's expensive, but you pay quality. It's up to you to see if you will sell something ?

-------------

That's where 3DGS commercial version put points for some indies caus you have shadows and fullscreen stuff and other for indie price.
I would preferto see 3DGS Commercial like 3D Coat :
- 350$ : New WED and tools + Android publishing
- 150$ : New wed only

Well we have a year or more before that happens, so i continue to gave fun with 3DGS , and keep unity for other style of games (mainly webplayer to see if sucess is ok, if i would go for Unity Android or use another indie engine instead ?)

Like i said , having more than one engine is not bad laugh

Re: Selling my A8 pro & ANet Pro - 02/17/13 18:53

probably today it is much easier to build up a team in unity than in 3dgs. was there a chance to use 3dgs, or it was a unity project from the beginning?
just put some posts at morbius if you have something to show.
