Wall textures - 09/11/05 18:05

You can use them whithout giving credids.

If you like them I can post a few more, if not please tell me why.

Re: Wall textures - 09/11/05 18:17

if you have photoshop or gimp (i think) you can use the offset filter then blend the edges so they look like a wall again. then you un offset them back to origional possition.

get gimp and goto the filters-->map-->make seamless
so that it will tile.
I just learned this yesterday and now i cant stop taking pix and making them textures.

useable, with some tweaking

i messed with the last one a little. Adjusted for tileing then did 3 differnt lighting renderings to it to get a little bump mapping to it.

mabey do a little bit of contrast adjustments too before light rendering will help

Grimber, why do u always post everything with shaders (i'm jealous, can't code Sharders ) and why they always ARE COOL?

@Jar_Jar_Binks: nice texes, but seamling would be nice

Re: Wall textures - 09/12/05 09:32

do u always post everything with shaders

? i don't know how to write shaders either. no shaders done in that picture above. I just took the original texture and rendered light onto it and a bit of bump map effect using Gimp. you can do the same thing photoshop as well.

thats just the modified texture applied to a block

you don't need shaders to make your textures and levels look good.

(added)

here is the 3 differnt textures with the light rendered on them used above
typicaly its not good to do for a first person sort of game because it can make the textures appear realy pixelated when right up close, Unless you do the light rendering on a big image then scale down the image afterwards.
