a simple song - 11/28/05 16:52

hi all,
i just wrote my first song ( ) it took me for about 15 minutes to make and write it, so maybe it isn't perfect, but I felt like sharing it (i'm sorry for that ) so here it is:

http://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0YCODW4NFJCBO0PMKDGL2XJUXL

please tell me what you think about it. (don't try to avoid the word "CRAP" )
you are allowed to "be inspirated" (copy whole parts) if you like and use it in your own song, but in that case I would like to hear the result.

hope you like it

I like it very much, even though it's a mid file, which stands for crap instruments basically lol.
It's very nicely composed, and with a few sterio instruments and ither things this can really sound nice Love it

@inestical: i don't have experience with that, this is the very first song i made. could you recommend me any program for doing so?

what else should I improve?
I'm currently adding some notes to fill some gaps:

I don't know many progs, but I have used Fruity Loops, maybe you should check it out, or I know, that Sam has better ideas, don't you

Re: a simple song - 11/28/05 23:35

I don't know what program you used to make this, but I have used "Modplug tracker" in the past. Pretty neat program, but the possibilities are limited because of the Midi structure (can't do any good reverb or anything of course, and the samples are really poor).

Since a few months, I'm using Cubase. You can make some really nice things with this program Although it uses midi imput, you can use Real wav samples, which ofcourse makes all your songs sound loads better!

Good luck!

I like the first one Very much...
disn't care for the second.

I like the first as it is "much more simple".

In fact if I can I will use it in my project.
It fits perfectly into an Adventurous Enviroemnt.
I remind me of The feel I got When I tried Game Studio
for the first time and ran the Office Demo level.

It reminds me of the music from office Demo
that has that mucic that....

" that just gives you that warm and happy feeling"

I love it and its small in size too!

Definately keep up the good work!

I agree with Whine. Fruity Loops has everything you'll ever need to make a professional song. I swear, it totally brought mine to life. Check it out as soon as you can. You won't regret it. Also, if you plan on buying it, don't buy the producer edition, but, buy the fruity edition. It will have everything you'll need. The Standard edition won't help you if your song has chords so, that's why I bought the Fruity Edition . Only $99 too!

Good luck RJDL .

@tozzy: thanx for your advice. will think about it

@all: thanx for your nice words it "just gives you that warm and happy feeling"
I listened to my song more carefully, and that time I liked it myself, and that's quite a strange feeling; thinking: "that's nice music. who wrote it? ah, it's me..."

@teutonic darkness: you may use it if you want

thanx all!

I think it would fit perfectly as a End of Game song
( I don't mean that in a bad way either)

maybe in the Credits or something.

"Just sonds kind of like Credits music"

Yep like it just not as much as the other I mentioned

Re: a simple song - 01/10/06 06:32

i made this song in about five minutes, and I'm still learning to make songs, so, while this is my second song i ever made, it could be crap. i don't need you to tell me it's crap, it would be better if you should tell me why it is.
maybe i will post more songs, which (i hope) will get better

ps. thanks for your kind words

here's another one

@ bilbo:
i use score perfect.
actually i don't have any ideas when i open SP, i just start to 'write' and add more notes to the music, untill it sounds like 'a song'.
in a few minutes i've got something like this.
that's why these songs are sometimes 'interesting'
i've about 4 years piano experience, and i want to learn write good songs, so i try to do so, and hope they will get better after a while
again: feel free to use these songs (or parts of them) in any project or your own music.

There's an error:

"We no longer allowing direct links to those files.

You can however display a thumbnail with a link to an orginal file. This had to be done because certain people were abusing the system. Thank you."

Also, your first link in the first post have been expired.
