Thank you for the comments. I had a hard time understanding pointers, so it's good to know that the workshop does its job.

Re: Aum70 - 02/06/08 00:47

Thanks for this Aum George. I tried out the replay/record functions, and made it so the text files remain saved. But then, if I start the demo again, and hit play, the engine crashes. How would I play back certain entities from different already saved .txt files? I'm looking to use this for before race camera runs around the level. So to load up a level, record the camera runs in different text files, then play each one before the race for the camera entity.

Nice magazine again. Will the next contest accept A6 entries too again? I probably should upgrade to A7 anyways, but it would be nice,

Re: Aum70 - 02/06/08 18:21

Thank you, guys.
"How would I play back certain entities from different already saved .txt files?" Read the data from the files and store it inside the recorded_position array. Then, feed the array data to the entities.
"Will the next contest accept A6 entries too again?" I've got an idea for the next contest, but JCL has to approve it first. I should have more information in about 1 month.

Re: Aum70 - 02/22/08 04:00

Hey George,

I have always enjoyed your efforts too.

Lately though, I am encountering a problem reading the magazine.

I have a new computer and I am using Windows Vista.

Whenever I open the chm file I get the error message:
Quote:

Navigation to the webpage was canceled

I searched the AUM forum to see if anyone else had this problem and I did not find any matches.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks,
Marcus

Re: Aum70 - 02/22/08 10:44

You might not be able to open Aum's chm files because you aren't logged in as an administrator. If you have other chm files that can be opened in another folder, move the Aum chm files to that folder.

Make sure you are logged in as administrator and then right click, properties, unblock.

Re: Aum70 - 02/22/08 19:02

Or open the CHM "As Administrator".. Which is more safe practice than being logged in as Administrator. This should only be needed in special cases such as un-/installing software, granting access etc.

Re: Aum70 - 02/23/08 02:07

Right clicking, selecting Properties and clicking Unblock did the trick.

I am the only user of the computer and I have my account set up as the administrator account.

I am still setting the computer up so I don't want to have to worry about installing things as I get to them.

Thanks for you help and for the other suggestions also. I appreciate your efforts.

Marcus
