Remember back in gradeschool, when they posed the question of what you'd do if you were president.. and had you write an essay or.. give a speech..?

Some of you said you'd end world hunger, some of you said you'd make marijuana legal (lol). Either way, a large variety of answers came to be, and you got to know how people viewed the world or what they held important in theirs.

Well.. in today's time.. the business world and more and more people are thinking less like nations and empires and more like a global community. Even so, leadership still determines the destiny of all within the world looking to it for guidance. Even so, issues exist, and it's leadership's job to address and amend those issues, along with making progress.

As you you probably can tell, I've given alot of thought to the inquiry. I have my own answer(s) to the question, even. But I was curious what everyone else thinks.. SO. As my topic's inquiry.. complete the sentence:

If I ruled the world ... I'll convert the whole mankind into an reasearch society. Everything is being done for scientific purposes. SO we can get back the years, the church ruined by hiding new discoveries and killing brilliant people while telling they are possesed by the devil...

I can't believe I forgot the D.. I thought I deliberately backtracked and added it, only to space it out again.. :/

@ Micheal.. I'm right there with you.. only I'd also disestablish nations.. no more natialities.. recognition of humanity firs,t ethnicity second. No more flags, no more anthems. No more men arming against other men.. perhaps against whatever's out there what means harm to us all.. but no more arming, rivalry and competition between humans.

There'd be no mor war on earth after ..dunno.. a half century.. and the dust of rebellion against the change settles.. unless some cocky alien race wants a piece of us.

Earth's power would be devoted to advancement.. and to serious, government backed combat of the plagues on earth. Every disease that could be starved to death, would be. I'd personally sponsor research that leads to interstellar capability, or at least ability to traverse our own system in reasonable realtime.

Earth would have a different face, (and so would it's money) by the time I was done. Hopefully I'd finish it all before I get sniped for being the anti-christ, though.. that would be a major concern.

I'd get leaders and the brightest people from different nations together to develop and implement form some kind of earth based real meta-democracy with the interests of humanity including developing culture and science at the center, with some kind of system of checks to prevent fundamentalist movements of all sorts from corrupting the system

If I ruled the world I'd turn the whole world into a scientific research society with todays ethical borders and assign michael_schwartz as the vice president of the world

And Iceman as well except for his permissions to disassemble all nations in the world. Nations are important to keep the society stable. One big society simply wont work.

if i ruled the world, i would auction my authority off to the highest bidder.

bidders must be approved by me beforehand, and sign a contract providing me a steady and decent income, the home of my choice, and a half-yearly computer upgrade.

given more time, i'd probably think of loads more in that contract.

well, julz, that wouldnt be tuff, since as soon as the other on would be ruler of the world, he would tell you, well, which contract?? and than youd be off to jail:)

btw, if i ruled the world, i'd legalize marihuana and there would be green fields everywhere! and the former politicians would be forced to smoke the whole day long till they legalize it by themselfes and that would be the day i'd give the force back to them and go lean back:)

Actually:

If I ruled the world... I would nuke the USA. Then I'd nuke the Russia. And watch the reactions smiling evlily. And get pwnd by nuclear winter.

Then I would give my leadership away in voting (which I will win by myself every year until I get bored and let the one with lowest amount of votes get the place with a contract of my will.)

That's because, as we see.. capitalist free republics fail too many people, communist structures fail even more people. No current way of doing things is working, else we wouldn't be in the condition we're in as a race.

A benevolent dictatorship is about what this world needs. Someone or a relatively small group of representative someones to agressively kick the ass of Earth into a firm, toned, well functioning and strong set of Terran Imperial buns .

Nationalism is a useless tool of divisivism. it only makes men arm and fight for icon of flag and concept country.. very rarely for the people first.

All accept for against malevolent conquering empires.. the likes of which are almost extinct because their era has passed.. that is a stupid reason to fight or raise and develop arms against other humans.. perhap the dumbest reason of all.

It, and therefore the concept of nations, must die if Earth is to start over the right way. .

Yea yea of course!.. Nations are pointless But..you could still call yourself British/American/Japanese.. just meaning you're from the Imperial Province of Britain/America/Japan .

One flag.. one sovereignty.. one body of armed forces.. but with retained ethnic background.. retained history.

I'm all for Anarchy ( and before you get fired up about that statement heres a clarification; Anarchy as opposed to Monarchy, ok ? )in that every single person is a sovereign state and upholds all mutual agreements.

Didnt even work well in my culture in the end as war mongers got organised and introduced a monarchial approach anyway.

If violent games would encourage people to go shoot up a school, then by all means ban the games. Still, I don't think games are the problem at all here, but I guess most here already know my view on this.

If I ruled the world, violent games would definitely not be banned, but encouraged. I think it's not that crazy to look at Japan and their ultra violent manga comics. Some of those comics are like total wicked sick on the scale of violence. You don't see way more violence over there, in fact, statistics even suggest that Japan is very very peaceful. (Yes, even while still having the most suicides)

@ Neuro, anarchy has no authority except for the individuals own wishes as far as I know.
Anarchist societies would agree to terms in which they agree such terms are unvoidable like peacefull coexistance, moral levels, area of influence and so on.
The whole society operates as individuals and not groups, where each individuals point of view is just as valid as anothers and unarguable and collectively, such views are generalised as "Thats how we do it" sort of thing.

Yesh no more religions.. just a common pursuit of the abundant truth following the embracing of the fact we dont know the whole truths about things .
Once we find out things, we bow to that... but no more fighting and such over what we believe and dont know, like we do today.

Yup and the sad thing about these pointless 'I believe...'-discussions is that it ultimately really doesn't matter [cookies] what you believe in anyways. Believing in one religion instead of another doesn't give you more luck or a happier life than when you'd believe in that other religion or no religion at all.

When I rule the world, I'd build a huge area52 deep underground, make me my home there, then get totaly rid of the ozone layer. The more CO2 production the better! When the layer is gone all sorts of neat mutations start to happen and I'd select the best mutated people and breed along till I have a new superspieces!
