Power Render decline - 08/13/07 21:09

Well ,
with this announcement , it only prooves the engine don't sell well and community like more than 6,7 or more years have never grow up a lot !

When you can have the engine and source for only 100$ it's like the dead
Cypher engine , the end is near !

Caus if the engine would sell well , you would never find such offer !
I've tried it , and don't like it's complicated code, as complicayed than Torque C++ , big bugs with 3DSMAX plugin ...

home page

Well like Beyond Virtual engine that is sinking , it's just a thread to warm people !!

the license is only for one project and the version 6.8
sounds to me a new version is near to comming, how much is the upgrade?

And now with A7 I think you can have the same power of the majority of the engines, we need a new tech demo

First we need a working map/shadow compiler It is still broken in A7.

I once used to work with PowerRender. It has a very impressive material editor. You can choose specularity, bump-mapping, channels and textures very easily. There is a world-editor and some other tools and decent help files.

Our programmer liked it at first glance but later found a few bugs (e.g. with terrain).

But that was last year.

Ok perhaps the workflow was good , like KJAPI engine
where you had a window on 3DSMAXdirectly to choose your
diffuse, spcular, normal, glow maps directly and preview directly in 3DSMAX
animation in a Window of KJAPI engine running !

If some sort of plugin could be done for Blender

Power Render author , lonewolf is working on PR7 , but like Blitzbasic
that is really outdated , no more evolving , but it was a very fun engine to use indeed !

Well ... let's wait future for people that like to wait

Re: Power Render decline - 08/15/07 11:18

not need to wait to much
the map/shadow compiler is nearly

and later I sure comming the new template system
(I like that for see how works this time, And make my own templates compatibles)

when I have that two early release thinks I have enought
for make all I like (new techdemo by sample)

I know you (the expert) don't like to much gamestudio, but
I try with other engines, and no other engine change my opinion, the gamestudio is the best.

My recommendation is test before to buy (you renember "Beyondvirtual")

You can pay for this engine now but think one product license not are enought and think are in the doors of one new version and a updrade of more of 5000$ think are expensive

Felixsg:

"I know you (the expert) don't like to much gamestudio"

That's all the contrary in fact
I talk about other engines etc ... but the one i use to experiment, create fast
is 3DGS (even if i repeat i would like it to be like Torque World editor mor :
all tools integrated in the same window).

No like i also said before : 3DGS future is bright indeed

if 3DGS team can bring up lot more panels to do all by mouse :
choose/tweak shaders , for models some panel with standard texture slots
like normal, specular, diffuse would be great ...

Comparing can only makelor more users asking better workflow and it can only be
benefic ... Well one day perhaps 3DGS will be near Cryteck sand box (far cry editor)
