Work Shop Tutorials - 04/02/08 22:32

I've been having alot' of trouble with 3DGS today. And it's only my first day using it! I tried opening the lite-c workshop tutorials but all it is is a script. I have no idea what it means! Could anyone help me?

You got 3 programs when you bought 3dgs A7 (commercial wasn't it? \:\) ) after installing. WED.exe, MED.exe and SED.exe. The last one (SED.exe) is the script editor of 3D Gamestudio. You will need this to run the file (not necessarily, but it's where you should start).

Presumably, the file you got from the tutorial is a .c file, which is the type of files where you program the programming language 'C' in. Gamestudio uses .c for the lite-c language as well. So open SED.exe and open the file in here (I guess you may have done so already). Now there is this big black arrow in the top bar of the SED application. This option will run the a7 engine and tells it to load your file to excecute.

Beware though that there is an option in SED which either executes the file you have loaded, or load a script from somewhere else. Search for a checkbox in options that says 'use the current file for test run', and make sure it's checked ;).

I just tried that and its blank! The file I can't open has a question mark next to it and at the end says .chm... I think. And whats even more fantastic is that the files are undeletable, somehow. (I tried to delete it and resave it to see if it did anything.

Thanks for all the help,

Ok, I can open it but then it says: This program cannot display the webpage. I'm connected to the internet so I don't see what the problem is.

Thanks for the help,

well, in fact you don't even need to be connected to internet. Try redownlading workshops. If it's still not opening then you have something worng with your system.

Search the web for chm file, its actually not a lite-c type file, but a html project that should open in a windows window, totally seperate to A7.

I don't know what the problem is from your description but see if you can find a chm problem forum or something.

Don
have a great day

If you have vista (especially) you need to right click on the .chm file under administrator and unblock. Should let you read then.
