Real time strategy navigation - 05/30/10 14:32
Hi, I know this has been asked before but can anyone tell me how to set up the point and click navigation in lite c for use in an rts game? The end result needs to be that users are able to select entities then right click anywhere in the level, whereby the entites then move to that last right click position. Also if anyone knows how to create a dynamic selection box for use in selecting larger groups this would be very helpful also.

You can use IntensePathfinding or search pathfinding algorithm such as Djikstra or AStar(A*) on google...

I did some research on what you mentioned and it looks like I will need to install the Intense program. I was hoping that either yourself or anyone else knew of a process to write this in lite c without the need for external programs. To explain again I am looking for a way through lite c coding to be able to click on and select units which you can then control by right clicking anywhere on the map. Just like a typical strategy game such as age of empires. Anyhelp would be great.
