Rendering PANEL only in a specific VIEW

Right now I do it with the help of target_map. I create a 32-bit empty bmap and put it over the view. Then I set the PANEL's render target to that bmap. Now the PANEL is only "rendered" in this view.
My question is: Is there an easier way?

I am afraid there is no way of cutting a panel but through its target_map. I remember answering to a similar question last year

It is neither easier nor cheaper.
