First of all, I dont think it belongs to Showcase 1 if you dont post any screenshots, and information about the game. Only a link is not enough...

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/25/05 01:26

Good ol' Bomberman. The game rocks. Congratulations. This really does have commercial qualities. Even the render videos are well done. Too bad, the game didn't show them. I had to open them with my media player. Would be great if the player was able to plant several bombs simultaneously. by the way: If your game wasn't made wit ACKNEX I'd never download a game called Bomberbabe...

Yep, very good quality. When I read the title I hoped for more erotic (sexy character ). I like the title.

Great stuff! All I see is absolute professional . Most I like the video. Unfortunately the game isn't made with a 1st person camera - I image a 1st person camera would give more action.

Your website was blocked by my browser, maybe do to a download from the site ?

Edit: My browser doesn't accept your java function func_redirect()

Pretty cool game. Nice movies and good sound. The controls are easy to use.
The panels are great. Overall I would say it is a very good game.

I'd have to say, this is the only Gamestudio Game I've actually kept playing for one hour straight(including the game I made). Kudos! You've captured the feeling of good old bomberman perfectly...

May I suggest multiplayer for Bomberbabe 2? I still remember the tons of fun I had playing with 4 players on the same computer with classic bomberman games.. There was both cooperative and Deathmatch I think..

Keep up the good work. Best luck on your sales. If I wasn't so damn poor maybe I would consider buying a copy myself.

I like the presentation very much. Unfortunately I did not load the games because of the 60 MB file size

It looks very professional! Congratulations!

The game movies are encoded by Xvid, the installer does install the codec.
If not by any chance pls install the video codec (inside the videos zip file).

In the full version of the game, you will be able to place multiple bombs, see powerups, remote conrtol, speed and many more.

@Marco_Grubert

Thanks

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/25/05 22:55

for being a a5 game its quite good. You cant do much wrong with a bomberman game anyway

some things i didnt like that much:
+ the whole theme was kind of splintercell meets laracroft bomberman style.... i loved those clumsy looking nutshell heads a lot more (the ones from the original). I would have rather played a more splapstic and funny game then such a serious background. Weired aliens, a clumsy bombhunter and lots of traps and "oooops effects". But thats a personal taste though.
+ the anims could have been done a little bit better ...she walks a little bit stickmen like
+ the crates thingy is nice but i think in our days the leveldesign could go away from visible block set ups to nice models and shole structures (though this would be harder with the random level...a good featrue btw)
+ The motivation curve could be better by having eiter one main enemy (boss per level that is teasing you from level to level) or by having the bomberbabe respond a little better to solved mission

But overall its fun to play and i liked it.

cheers

@Dragon
"What's the powerup "Bomberboots" for?"

You can jump over bombs (single bomb)

Again, thanks for your comments, will plan bomberbabe 2 soon.

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/26/05 16:25

If you do a part 2 things which have to be better:
- Moving in the grid is ok, but to have to walk until every point in the grid is too much. In Bomberman had to walk in a grid too, but you could choose how far to walk. Hmmm. Difficult to explain.
- Better Collisions please. A: Polycollision or smaller boundingbox for the babe.
- and most important: the flames seem to be a single trace only. That means, if a monster is walking from left to right and under him is a row of bombs, he can walk between the fire without getting wound.
Problem A: the trace is a line, do a trace using the box so the trace gets as huge as the fire beam,
and Problem B: it traces only 1 Frame! Please trace as long as the fire beam is visible. That won´t hurt the frame rate.
And C: The fire should go through monsters.
- And last but not least, if there would be a sexy adult version or a multiplayer mode I would buy it

Do you mean the character shouldn't be "locked" to the "tiles"? In the Bomberman games, you could walk more freely, and it was easy to take one step too many and inadvertently put yourself in the way of a blast. I don't know which method I like better... I'm a Bomberman fanatic, so I love their method, but Bomberbabe's wasn't bad, either.

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/26/05 22:24

in the classic bomberman you could only set the direction and the dummies where walking till they hit something. Was kind of more dynamic and a little bit of a skill and timing things..though a lot more harder to walk and time your "attacks".
personaly i like both methods....maybe a option in the control set ups where you could decide what walk method you would like to have, would be an idea.

I also aggree that you should work on "bb2".
BB1 was fun to play and i am sure if you bring it a little bit more "up to date" (effects, ideas aso) you could end up with a good selling and funny game.

MP via lan and inet would be a big plus!!!

just my 2cents
(i am waiting for a good bomberman sequel that makes as much fun as the first one...and i guess i am not alone )

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/26/05 23:23

Little Bombers is a nice clone of the original
Posted By: Blattsalat

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/26/05 23:42

played them all

but i think that it would rock to be able to convert this gamestyle into an up to date, 3d, effects eye candy and new ideas bomberman.

I am sitting infront of a 3000$ pc and for some reasone i have the urgent need to unleash the power of it and combine it with the fun of the classic bomberman.

...just some old mans dream

P.S.:sorry for hijacking the thread a little bit

Re: Shareware - Bomberbabe - 02/27/05 09:59

[Sorry for offtopic]
Where you mention it...

I had a weird dream several years ago. It was some sort of Bomberman... well not exactly. But the basic idea was to have four players which beat each other.
The whole thing was combined with Chu Chu Rocket (A Dreamcast Game where you can lead mice to your rocket using arrow plates, and send cats to the enemies).
The cats were golems, and moving like in Chu Chu Rocket, the competitors armed warriors. Instead of a distance fight using bombs, the game was about sword combat and extra stuff like magic shots. The aim of the game was to collect more crystals than the others. And everything in full 3d!

I had a clear vision of the game, and it was a hell lot of fun... and then I woke up.

I tried to recreate this game, but up to now I failed. The AI is the bottleneck

@Thread Starter

I'll download your game when I'm on DSL again and then take a look at it.

------------

Imho the best Bomberman version was released on the Sega Saturn system. It featured massive 10 player multipalyer action on an enlarged battlefield.
Too bad they put those annoying animals in the standard sized battlefields...
