yes it's too short. and i cant pick up the baseball thing.
you should make a test level, where all features are shown.

Very cool! I will buy this, if it is reasonably priced

. It would be nice if the kick and punch sounds where more like the ones in kung fu movies, and the characters should be able to run. I really like the demo though, great job!

You should make the ground less blurry...

I dont speak German ,but Google does a bit .
There is no worm ,no virus in the demo .
Can you explain to me in english whats happening?
Posted By: ShoreVietam
Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/28/05 20:51
That's a german phrase, it has nothing to do with worms or viruses, he only ment, that there is something wrong because he can't get it to work. ^^

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/28/05 21:01
thanks for explanation .
I would like though more descriptions from him to check whats wrong .
I m quite disappointed of the lack of feedback .
I thought there would be more explicit and constructive answers .

Hey that game was surprisingly solid and everything worked....as well as 3DGS would let it! I wish the demo time was a lot longer.
Pretty good game....lets gets the full version!

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/29/05 01:01
game actually played pretty well , though the grafix and level design are killing any type of potential it could have, I would advise to redo the models and redo all the level design and mapping , and tweaking the game a bit more , so you could have a solid game , rather than a game no one will even be interested in playing(with screenshots like the ones you posted). For the people who are gonna post and say "i'm gonna buy it , theres nothing wrong wioth ugly games, i;d like to have a threesome with an oompa loompa and fat bastard" , yes , but making a game , and only havinf 5 people from the gamestudio community vuy it isnt considered a success in any way, shape or form , my advice is to help him get closer to his goal rather than pitty and humor him saying it's great and buying a copy of something i wouldnt play if it was a choice bewteen it and double dragon for the 2600.

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/29/05 01:07
On a side note , making a demo time limited to 180 seconds is gonna alienate people rather than attract them (specially if u start counting from the time u double click the exe), you should make a 1 level demo , where u show off the game's main elements . If a timed demo is the way u'd prefer to go though , 15 min is the standard limit used by the shareware market.
Oh, and selling a game for 5 euros isnt gonna help it sell either , nor is it a sane thing to do , either put more effort to make something u can sell for at least $20 , or give as freeware.

@Why_do_you_die
This is your personal opinion .I respect it but i dont agree with it .
I prefer a lot more fun and cheap games than beautiful and expensive games .
Fun and price are the main goals of my game.
I have made fair graphics i think. And i made them alone .Also programming, game designing, level editing, sounds and music and 2D artwork .And its my money that i bought all the licenses with .So ,when you do like i do ,you know that there are areas more important than others.
So i m trying to make a fun and cheap game for people who want to enjoy old school fighting games updated for new abilities of machines.
I m sure that many people agree with me on this .And they prefer to try my style at a low price .
Better than buying a 25 dollars games and regretting it because it sucks .
Cheers.
And thanks others for support

Thats more than we want to know
It sounds as if your standards for an indy
game are unrealistic. If you compare this work with other gamestudio games, it
fares very well. You wont find the next Unreal or Doom3 here, unless you are
going to stun us all with your GS project?

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/29/05 10:35
i only commented because I myself have had the idea of making a game like , this , I LOVE double dragon and final fight , i used to play them when i was younger , and have thought about making a game of the sorts many times. I thought streetkicker played pretty good , but suffers pretty bad in the visuals department, but if it's a self made game , then I would say it looks pretty damn good , however , most people wont care if it's self made or not , they'll just look at the finished product. Hope it sells good , maybe you can have a sequel with all the updated grafix , If you need any help with level design let me know.
Btw , I love the story , about the shoe . not being sarcastic either , people will get a kick out of loading the game and seeing that story.

Yep! Those two were on my list and I got them now on emulator. I'll also add "Bad Dudes" as another one of my favorite beatem ups....

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/29/05 20:49
Ehm I think:
- Nice Charackter
- Cool effects
- Nice with the weapons
- good textures
- gameplay too slow
this is what I can say after 180 seconds to play ^^

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/29/05 21:53
ok well:
itīs a really nice level and the models also do look good.
the animations are ok.
but the ground somehow is a little bit strange and of course the 3min limit is really bad, for i canīt play it really long...and i am then unable to give you a reasonable test-justice

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/29/05 22:14
Thanks for feedback .
You are several to tell me about the ground , and of course about the 3 min limit .
Ill try and change the ground texture .And ill think about 4 minutes

I thought that 3 minutes were enough to test the gameplay ,i mean the fighting system. But you seem to want to play and test more.

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/30/05 00:40
4 min ? 15 min is standard , how much a diff can 1 min make , lol.

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/31/05 12:00
The overall speed of the game should be speded up by 300%
And the AI Players should at least try to reach an invisible node, and then walk to the player
whenever they get stuck behind a corner (can not trace the player, but can trace a node, which can trace the player).

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 08/31/05 12:03
why not make a demo with just a very small level or just one enemy to fight or something..
just something else instead of 180 secs or 240 secs limit...
nobody can really test the game in just 180 - 240secs, a timelimit is bad...
allow your users to test it fully as long they want, that way you will get much more detailed feedback.

Re: STREETKICKER ! : The playable demo - 09/21/05 23:42
This notice is to inform you that...
I really wanted to try this game demo out. I waited a significant amount of time for the download, put promptly deleted the files when it failed to run on my old machine. My newer machine was not available at the time. There were no obvious error messages. A few panels were visible, but the rest of the screen was black. I saw none of the following: player, enemy models, level geometry.
The specs for the old machine are:
500mhz PentiumIII
256mb RAM
ATI Rage Xpert 128 video card
Windows 98 Operating System
While it does not surprise me that the old machine doesn't run your demo, many of my projects and some relatively recent games run successfully on it.
Due to the imposed time limit, I probably won't try the demo on the newer machine.
