FXCM no longer (or not always) an option

FXCM no longer (or not always) an option - 10/07/16 05:40

Dear Zorro Team,

I would like to inform you that, at least in some countries (Italy), FXCM seems not to be an option anymore for using Zorro the "light way". According to the last policies of the company, you are no longer allowed to open an account at fxcm.com, if they have a national office/site (as in the case of Italy). Then, also contacting their local customer office, they do not allow special conditions for the access to their API, beyond what officially stated on their site. This is: for using the API you must open an institutional account with a deposit of not fewer than 25.000 EUR.
Of course I have not this capital, and it would anyway make few sense using Zorro overall, in this case, given the max-cap limitation of 30.000 EUR on the free version.

I would like to know if you want to undertake some initiative (making the MT4 bridge free..., giving out a free plugin for some other broker..., ???) in order to keep up with your mission "Take Money from the Rich and Give it to the Poor".

Thank you so much in advance

Yes. We are currently looking for another broker for the free version.

Thank you so much for the nice and fast answer, jcl.

Let's see in the meanwhile if I can start sharing something significant and get access to the S version...

Bye

It is not clear to me if we can't use API only from the countries where there is a local office or in general?

HI everybody,
I am new here.
I was told by FXCM that to have access to their Api would require a deposit of min. 25.000 € anyway also for the Zorro S Version?

I still like to add a little more to my comment I made,

Why does Jcl say that they are looking for another broker for the free version?

I am referring to the ff;
"You can trade with FXCM either through the MT4 bridge, or with a direct API connection through the FXCM plugin. Direct API connection is preferable due to higher speed and lower spreads. Compared with other APIs, the FXCM "FxConnect" API is relatively fast and allows unlimited price history access."

Also Zorro S requires an account of min. 25.000€ and not only the so called free Version that is an information and I am repeating now directly given to me by FXCM (by one of their stuff members)

looking at Z12 with an average no. of trades letīs say 750 p.a. this separates the Spreu from the Weizen o sorry thatīs german I wanted to say the semi-rich from the very poor - who will simply stay poor - or get even poorer
sorry for wrong grammar, or am I completey wrong - which I do hope - hopefully
kind regards from guenter

We are looking for a different broker because not anyone can afford to deposit 25.000 for opening an account. This has nothing to do with Zorro or Zorro S.

If you want to trade with a FXCM direct connection, but only with small capital, open an account with 25.000 and then withdraw all the money except for the rest that you need for trading. You can trade with $100 on an FXCM account, no matter the initial deposit.

Hallo JCL.
Just a short question: is there any update on this after one month?
Thank you so much in advance.
