Increase of the number of simultaneously accessible brokers

Increase of the number of simultaneously accessible brokers - 04/18/19 13:07

I ran into a limitation of the multibroker functionality of zorro, which I am really enjoying, while developing a tool. A given strategy can apparently only access assets with at most four brokers. I find this restriction too stringent and I would appreciate it if this limit would be increased to for instance 12. In case this would consume unnessary resoures for tools/strategies that do not require so many multiple broker connections, I assume one could add an appropriate parameter in the ini file to keep everybody happen.

Why do you need so many brokers? Has this a practical use?

Yes, it has practical use. Time is too precious for me and all of us to devote time on useless issues. Running multiple instances of zorro in this particular case is unfortunately not a viable solution or at least it is significantly more cumbersome. I must admit it is an unconventional strategy that I have not come across anywhere. Since everything is in place for multibroker use already, I would have hoped that this would be a relatively minor change to zorro S. Can it be done?

I was just curious why someone would simultaneously trade with 12 brokers. It is a minor change and I'll put it on the list.

Thank you for adding additional broker connections. I have used zorro S 2.10.7 with up to 7 and this has worked for me.

I have encountered however an issue while "cleaning up" my Assets.csv file. Initially, I used the multibroker functionality by placing all assets of all concurrently used brokers in one and the same <assets>.csv file and this works.
However, when I modified this and placed assets belonging to different brokers in different <assets>.csv files, I ran into the following error when switching to a broker that is not selected as the default in the zorro panel:
Subscribe <asset>
Error: No Accounts.csv entry
Error 053: <asset> unavailable at this time

Apparently zorro doesn't recognize assets listed in a different <asset>.csv as the one used for the broker set as default in the zorro panel. Of course when I made these modifications, I changed the Accounts.csv file and entered the proper <assets>.csv for each broker and I also restarted zorro. By now I have invested so much time on multibroker strategies, that I believe my assesment is likely correct and not some trivial mistake in how I have set this up. I would appreciate if this issue is checked.

What exactly is the problem? Which asset.csv did you load?
