Hope my queries are appropriate here. Im not a programmer but have some experience of index trading, pointed here by bard searching for semi automated trading tools. Currently going through intro videos and grateful for any responses on below:

Is zorro appropriate for a non programmer attempting to trade XAUUSD using momentum breakout on lower timeframes and limited risk?

Based in UK and subject to FCA margin rules would lowered leverage (30:1) hinder trading with zorro?

Does zorro's base interface and direct API to fx trader Oanda for instance illiminate the need to use mt4 or mt5?

You will become a Zorro programmer in no time if you follow the tutorial which starts here. Definitely make it a point to play around with the scripts:

Assuming the API is available to UK users, yes, it will eliminate the need for MT4/5. In general, direct API connections are superior to bridging with trading platforms.

Thank you this is excellent. I have also been going to YouTube Robot Wealth Zorro beginner videos and they're great although they relate to v 1744 from three years ago. Assuming Zorro have moved on a bit since.

If your older script compiles, chances are, it still works, unless it uses phased out features. You'll know as you read the error messages.

I was wondering if anyone has completed the process of opening an account with Oanda and as per https://zorro-project.com/oanda.php obtained their free Zorro S subscription following their first trade? The redirect link to Oanda does not seem to have an affiliate id embedded. Does anyone know of any intricacies to watch out for before opening a live account?
