Will Gamestudio one day get a working build-in network engine?
If yes, when? If no, where can I get my money back?

don't be so harsh. they're trying, areen't you(conitec)?

i agree with you that 3dgs needs a good, stable and working network engine. they could use libraries like RAKNet, ENet or maybe even use and upgrade GSTNet.

but the problem is that conitec isn't workin' on it. at least under forecast doesn't say anything about new network engine

To answer the 3 original questions: Yes - 1999 - No. wink

Seriously: We've planned an open network library interface so that users can use any network library, with ENet as default library. Also, more MMOG specific features such as server-to-server communication and a client update range were requested and are planned.

Thank you for your fast reply, jcl, that sounds promising - and please, please excuse my harsh comment, as you may have imagined I had a hard day trying to get dplay working lagfree wink
