Z7 - 09/18/15 09:04

Hi.

I have a question regarding Z7 and if the current situation is within the parameters of Z7.

At the moment I have a EURUSD sell 0.05 at 1.13965 and a EURUSD buy 0.1 at 1.14369.

Is this okay? I haven't seen this behaviour since I started Z7.

thanks in advance...

That's ok - just a temporary disagreement between the two pattern systems PA and PG. Z7 uses no virtual hedging, that's something to activate for the next update.

From what I see, PA has changed its mind meanwhile and also went long, at least my own instance.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. Till now Z7 looks okay to me...

The same here, now long EUR/USD in both algos,

USD/JPY is eating the profit. Yesterday I was tempted to close the position just before the FED interest rates news release, as the position gains was the average trade gain for the 2 weeks of trading..

Yepp same here. I did a backtest before I set the sliders and when I see that I have now 0,15 lot as a buy and my account has ~1300€ I hope that the SL is very near...

My settings:

Margin: 65
Risk: 10

Sundance, same account here ~1300,
Z7s with Margin at 80 and Risk at 10 and Phantom trades off,
I have to play more with the sliders in testing,
looking to start new Z7 instances with different settings in following weeks if this works..

Is there a way to set Margin and Risk slider programatically ? For instance, via the command line or Z.ini?

Re: Z7 - 09/18/15 15:08

I do not understand the Risk slider and the Margin slider.
I've read the Z systems page. Can we try again? Let's say I am starting Z7 on a new account with $X. What do i set these two sliders to, what are the factors in this decision
Then lets say later on i need to adjust them. Why? what are the conditions and factors?

Re: Z7 - 09/18/15 19:56

Wow. The two trades ended up in a loss of ~170€. Today Z7 drops my 1300€ account down 194€ ! Thats way to much for that little account but backtest showed me that my slider settings are okay.
@jlc: Can ou confirm that the settings are okay. I can't see that i did something wrong. Till today Z7 only took 0,05 lot and made wins and losses about 10 to 20€.

And yes GPEngine. You can sett the sliders within the corresponding INI file.

Re: Z7 - 09/19/15 03:06

What are the variable names?
I tried adding "Margin = " and "Risk = ". It had no effect.

Re: Z7 - 09/19/15 08:29

In the strategy folder you create a Z7.ini. Mine looks like:

NFA = 0
FXOnly = 0
MMax = 65
Phantom = 1
Hedge = 5
Weekend = 2
Verbose = 2
BrokerPatch = 0
Preload = 0

So when I restart Zorro the margin slider can't move to a higher value then 65.

Re: Z7 - 09/19/15 08:41

@jcl: Can you confirm the last both trades?

Backtesting with my margin setting tells me that the highest loss of a trade could be ~132€. This is nearly exactly the amount i lost with one of the trades yesterday. So it seems to be in the expected range.
I let the margin slider stay at 65 and see what will happen...

Re: Z7 - 09/19/15 16:10

So how would i set Margin slider to exactly 90, no higher or lower, using config or command line? I believe it cannot be done and it requires manually using the MOUSE. Also MMax is (Zorro S only).

Re: Z7 - 09/19/15 17:05

Ah. Okay. Sorry i think you are right. It starts with margin 10. I don't know if there is a difference between Zorro and Zorro S.

Re: Z7 - 09/21/15 09:38

As to my knowledge, MMax also works without Zorro S, but only with values at or less than 100.

Re: Z7 - 09/25/15 15:38

Sundance, Z7 is promissing, has recovered 50% of last week's losses..

Re: Z7 - 01/31/16 10:58

Do I need to train Z7 frequently to detect new price pattern?

3 months, accordingly with the manual. Ciao
