Z2 bad Stop error

Z2 bad Stop error - 05/11/20 06:04

Hello! The world is a mess right now due to the pandemic so I hope everyone reading this is safe and well.

I opened a demo account via Global Prime and wanted to do some paper trading before I switch to a live account in order to see what kind of errors I could possibly have with my setup. I tried Z2 on a VPS and I get bad Stop errors. This wasn't the first time I saw this but unfortunately this one below is the only one I was able to document.

(AUD/USD:A2:S) Short 3@0.653807 Entry limit
(AUD/USD:A2:S) skipped: bad Stop 0.62342 at entry 0.65360

Seems like A2 was trying to short AUD/USD but was giving a Stop that was LOWER than the entry. I thought about changing Stopfactor = 0 in z.ini but I don't think this is the real cause of the issue.

Anyone experience the same and has some advice to share? Thanks!

Regards,
Alvin

No, Stopfactor won't help. The likely reason of a bad stop is a price outlier. You can see many outlier warnings in the log.

Observe the trading. When you get more outliers and bad stops, something might be wrong with the internet connection or more likely, with the GP MT4 server.

Thanks JCL. Big fan of your work.

I will continue to observe the demo trades for Z2 and a custom script.
Should this discourage me from choosing this broker over another? Or this is just random and would not affect trades in the long run?

Alvin

At least I have not yet heard of many outliers with GP, so it might be an exception. Check the log in the next days.
