Testing non-Free Z Strategies

Testing non-Free Z Strategies - 05/20/20 09:10

Hi. In the past it was possible with the free Zorro to Test the non-Free Z Strategies such as Z12. 2.25 is saying an S license is required to Test.

Is this a change that's documented somewhere (and I missed it)? Or a bug?

If a conscious change, I'd suggest it's not a good one from a Marketing perspective...

Thanks.

I think this was changed a long time ago for avoiding too many different versions.

Thanks jcl.

But I don't understand "different versions"? Isn't it a single version with a choice of where in the code the license check is done?

Thanks.

Maybe I should have said: too many different modes to consider.

Perhaps, but I don't see how that changes things... It's still only 1 mode: licensed or not. The only question is where you check it. In the past it was checked in Trade only. Now it's been moved earlier in the code to affect all functions - Trade, Test, etc. (Unless it's been _copied_ into all the other functions?! Yuk!)

To me, whatever simplification this provides isn't really commensurate to the Marketing hit. But, hey, it's your choice!

Thanks.
