Z12 with IB (IBCE)

FX pairs return the following message:
Code
!Order rejected - reason:FX trade would expose account to currency leverage. GBP-CASH--0.00--IDEALPRO/--USD

Indeces and Metals are ok.

Limitation comes from a specific regulation for IB Central Europe only.

I tried:
  • Creating a positive/negative GBP ballance in account by buying manually a GBP/USD CASH
  • changing assets file to use GBP-CFD-SMART-USD
  • any combination of the above with other pairs (including reverse pairs like USD/JPY)

Does anyone trade Z system (FX pairs) in IBCE?
Does anyone use CFD instead of CASH assets with IB?

Thanks
Anton

Currency leverage is normally allowed in Europe, check with IB if you maybe need a special permission.

It is an internal policy of IB Central Europe, not a regulatory one.

Here is the reply from their support in case someone also meets this issue:

"You were trying to convert currency BUY USD.JPY and since you did not have JPY balance in your account you got error message "FX trade would expose account to currency leverage"
In IB CE account. We will allow an FX transaction in the following circumstances:

• FX Conversion: Converting a positive currency balance to base.
• Debt Reduction: Reducing the net of negative currency balances.
• Debt Consolidation: Trading a negative currency balance from a non-base currency to base currency."
