Inestical's army updates

Yeah, as much as the topic tells, I will update my goings and comings here.

As I talked to one of the members here, he told me that it'd great to tell others too what the hell I'm doing.

So..

I'm going to attend NCO (Non-Committed Officer) courses starting in two weeks. This means I will be leaving as Corporal or Sergeant. It also means that I will have the chance to be selected to become Officer student following Officer Cadet to become 2nd Lietuant.

I will be attending signalist NCO courses and I have very, very small chance to become officer student. Still aiming there though. My training starts tommorrow and I've been told that a) our camps till now has been child's play when compared what's coming and b) we will be stacked with information along with information, both strategic and technical all the time.

This is going to be fun.


Also, check my blog once a week, as I will be updating it when I get free time, about my game engine status. It's not on hiatus, and never were.

Why do you have such a small chance of becoming officer student?



They'll always say this, regardless of whether it's really true or not, the whole idea is that you'll be able to psychologically deal with tasks with (possibly) increasing difficulty.

Phemox: It's because they take about 6-7 per course and the motivation here is high and the level required to become officer student means I need to have good results from our basic exams and get to the top of the grading list that we have.

I'm doing fine, nothing special apart from that promotion. How are you guys?

Meh, only 26 wakeups left in the 362 day service in Finnish Defense Forces Intendur. I'm hoping (secretly) that I'll get my sgt promotion, though it's not for sure yet. We'll see at 24th day this month who gets useless promotion before going homereserve.

what's the advantage of becoming officer student? do you get more money?

You won't get more money, but you will have more demanding tasks. Also, as I stated before you will become 2nd lietuant, which is an Officer-level rank, also allowing you to more easily become captain and so on, if you want to make a career. When you're NCO, you have to take extra courses to become 2nd lietuant, which is the requirement to national defence university, the place that is a requirement for having the be active lietuant. (Here, there is the active service rank and reserve ranks. Reserve ranks are used in war and refresher training.)

As you can see I have gotten my moderator status back. It means only one thing. The army is finished next week. After that I'm back more active.

It means two things:
I can continue develop my projects more actively (to those who follow blog: the rewrite is about to hit first testing)
I'll annoy you guys by bitching that your topic is in the wrong forum.

BTW: I'm still corporal. The two sergeant promotions went to the right people.
