And now i need a Wii, again - 06/15/10 19:04

Yeah, many years ago, i just bought my Wii to play Zelda and sold it afterwards cause i didn't like the other games for the Wii.

- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- New Zelda: Skyward Sword
- New Kirby: Epic Yarn

Argh. These games are too epic to not play them (especially kirby 8D) so yeah. I should start saving money...

first, Happy Birthday Captain wink

last Cristmass I brought my brother to wish themself Wii sports Resort with motion plus adapter so that I´ll have one when the new Zelda comes out^^

But I´m also interested in what games else are worth the time laugh

EDIT: Holy crap I nearly forgot: BUY OKAMI!!!
When I played this game the first time on PS2 I was so amazed by it, my mother thought I was game addicted grin

I was thoroughly disappointed in Nintendo when they showed the new Zelda at E3. I mean, I'm sure it's an early build and all that jazz, but if it's going to handle so terribly then just make a video ^^

I'm sure it'll end up great, but they really made fools of themselves trying to "show off" the new Zelda.

And Happy Birthday. laugh

Yeah, the Wii gets some great games. Don't forget the new Donkey Kong!

@Julz: why are you so sure that it was just an excuse when they claimed that other devices disturbed the controller signals?

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 06/16/10 00:29

I actually didn't hear that at all. That would make sense -- the slingshot looked like it was malfunctioning.

I think the bow was the bigger problem grin

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 06/16/10 01:00

Ah! I didn't see the bow. Which reminds me -- my brother couldn't bare to see any more of it so he turned it off before it got that far tongue

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 06/16/10 07:24

Thanks for the wishes laugh

I actually played Okami before on PS2 but never finished it. It somehow didn't catch me a lot. Maybe i should give it a try again. And i just saw there is a Okami coming for DS now (Okamide or something).

I also just watched the new zelda conference (just saw the trailer before) and its sad their wii mote didn't work really well but i'm sure it's just the WiFi in that room. I remember Steve Jobs having problems with his iPhone 4G on his presentation cause 500 WiFi spots were in one room (all the laptops, cellphones, etc) so they turned off a lot and it worked fine.

The new Donkey Kong really looks cool grin I'm glad it's a 2D Game.

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 06/16/10 08:03

it was an interferance. that also happened last year with wii sports resort. people who demoed the game confirmed that it works flawlessy.

happy birthday matey wink

so now, for my list of already released and upcoming games, in no particular order:

Metroid Prime Trilogy
Super Shash Bros Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Okami
ExciteBots (NTSC ONLY!)
The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword
Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition (Seriously)
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Metroid other M
Zack and Wiki - Quest for Barbaros Treasure (AMAZINGLY EPIC)
Red Steel 2 (The first one sucked though)
Another Code R (Seriously)
Epic Mickey
MadWorld (Ultra Brutal Arcade slasher with slick looks)
Spyborgs (Only if you like Beat 'em ups like Streets of Rage)
Mario Kart Wii
Virtual Console (Obviously)
WiiWare (Seriously)

Notable Mentions:
Resident Evil Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles (Two On-Rail Shooters that bridge the gap between some games. Worthwhile if you like On Rail Shooters or Resident Evil)
Dead Space Extraction and House of the Dead Overkill (Same as above)
Mushroom Men (Good Platformer)
No More Heroes 1+2 (Sick twist on the GTA concept)
Fragile Dreams and Arc Rise Fantasia (If you like JRPGs)
Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing and TMNT Smash Up (If you like well done clones of Mario Kart and Smash Brothers)
A Boy and his Blob (New Version of this classic is epic)
Castlevania Judgment (Underestimated Arcade Fighter like Power Stone)
The Conduit (great example of the controls and tech behind the wii)
ENdless Ocean 2 (Not a game, technically, but still brilliant if you feel like diving)

Note, I did not talk about multiplatform games, as they are available on, well, other platforms aswell. I am only talking Wii exclusive or if the Wii version is better than the other versions (Like Resident Evil 4 or Okami)

Hope that list helps...

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 06/16/10 08:31

Thanks Spike!

That is a nice list indeed. I totally forgot about Zack and Wiki D: i always wanted to play that and hoped for a PC version or something.

I also had Red Steel once when i had a Wii before but i didn't like it a lot. So 2 is really better? Hmm.

And i didn't know that there is another "Another Code" for the Wii too. Loved the DS game so this could be cool.

I guess i really should save up for a Wii again (or get a used one at least).

The GameCube games work on Wii too right? Cause i still have Kirbys Air Ride, Splinter Cell, Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime.

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 06/16/10 19:28

That red steel game has some good reputation.
But I didnt play it but they said that the controlls are pretty solid and cool espeacialy for the wii and I actually think that they edited the first game with "finer controlls" correct me if Im wrong grin

regards and happy B-Day

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 08/13/10 12:06

Yay i finally got one, with "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Zack and Wiki"!

Both games are great but Mario Galaxy rocks everything so far. It's a positive surprise after playing Mario Sunshine D:

I also sold my Wii...Bad games...Just METROID PRIME 3 was awesome grin

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 08/15/10 11:11

"It's a positive surprise after playing Mario Sunshine D:"

IMO Sunshine had some of the best Mario levels ever, I mean those where you had to master a sometimes very difficult course built of geometric shapes.
I've really missed this kind of levels in Galaxy 2...

In less than three weeks Metroid: Other M will be published, I'm really looking forward to it.

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 08/15/10 18:24

To be honest the "special shadow mario acapella music" levels in Sunshine were kinda annoying after a while smirk
Everything else was cool but i somehow like Galaxy so much better. It feels like the good old 64 but with awesome ideas and leveldesign.

I just finished the story yesterday, and now i'm going to collect all stars. After that it's time to get the second galaxy game grin

Re: And now i need a Wii, again - 08/15/10 19:04

I'd not recommend that. Those games are very similar (more so than usual for Mario games). I'd assume that you'd get tired of it way too fast if you were to play the second game right after the first.

Instead, get Another Code: R tongue
