Source code for sale [Forestry Simulator] - 09/17/14 11:15

Some of you might know my project "Forestry Simulator". For personal reasons I can't work anymore on the project.

The complete sources of the game are now available for sale.

This includes full source code and development tools:
  • gameplay source code
  • modified ShadeC-EVO source code
  • IceX3 Vehicle Tool including source code
  • IceX3 Level Editor including source code
  • Full IceX3 API, including full working PhysX vehicle multiplayer script source code
  • 3d models, textures, 2D graphics, sounds
  • artwork and concept documents

The game is almost finished. It's features complete and in beta status. Bug fixing ist the last steps to do. The game language is available in English and German.

Features:
  • Harvester vehicle including all functions like felling, delimbing, and bucking trees
  • Forwarder vehicle for transporting the logs from the felling to a landing area
  • Tree physics simulation powered by NVIDIA PhysX©
  • Authentic forest sceneries powered by ShadeC-EVO
  • 15 missions to complete
  • Multiplayer mode. Play in cooperation with a friend over internet

If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to contact me.

I'm really sorry that you can't finish it, the game looks great and the graphics quality is better than your last product.

Definitely a big deal for simulator fans and for developers using PhysX!

Does it mean that you won't release the source of your forest scene presented in the Showcase section and the corresponding Shade-C Evo modifications?

The only thing which isn't published for ShadeC-EVO is the atmospheric sky scattering. All other modifications and fixes are available at ShadeC-EVOs GitHub if I remember correctly.

ah man, that sucks...

Have you ever thought of having someone else fix the bugs (and split sales), or releasing it early access?

Looks good, but I kind of have a feeling of what this is worth, and I dont have such money laugh
Contact conitec, maybe they are interested in using/adding this for new people to learn from (or parts of), alongside integration in the engine (Shade-C Evo)?

Good luck with the sale!

Sure, but I don't have time to fix the bugs and I also don't have the money to hire someone to fix them.

I was talking about possibly finding someone who would do accept payment post-release. With your track record of games released, it's more feasible then anyone else telling them "I have an idea, wanna work for free" wink

I've been out of the loop on using gamestudio for years now, I have no idea where to start (and spare time is minimal), otherwise I would've offered myself to do this.

Again, best of luck!

For real man, considering the game is already almost finished I'm sure you could find somebody who would help you get it done. You don't have to wash your hands of the project outright.
