This is a common problem of stencils:

Dynamic shadows are not clipped by walls. A shadow can be cast on a wall, at the back side of the wall, and on the floor behind the wall at the same time. Take care that level and models are very dark in unlit parts (or use the cast flag) to cover or suppress unwanted shadows.
Stencil shadows are also visible on model polygons that point away from the light source, which can lead to undesired flickering shadow polygons. To avoid this, use a material with low ambient and a high diffuse part.

This is not an invention of A7.
Those ghost shadows are just a side effect of how stencil shadows work.
To safely prevent ghost shadows from being visible, all objects which receive shadows should be able to cast shadows as well.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE A7 SHADOW SYSTEM
Its just HOW IT WORKS
any other engine that uses stencil shadows has the same problem.

no, not every engine that uses stencil shadows has the same problem. if all geometry casts stencil shadows (like in doom3) then this problem doesn't happen like fenriswolf already mentioned. gamestudio can't really do this. stencil shadows more and more get replaced by shadow mapping anyway though.

btw...is there already some kind of shadowmapping that could used in a7..with acceptable results? and if not(I guess so? ) can't some of us join and let's say work on it for a week (and not on side projects for that time) then?

i have pssm working. i will release it once i don't need a dll for setting light matrices anymore and once i have added nicer filtering (or maybe i will release it before i have added nicer filtering so that someone else can try to work on it :)).
