Atlas Mapping Problem - 05/28/09 14:14

Hi there, yet another question, and I assume it's the last ^^

I want to Texture my car / gondela, but it's impossible to texture it when it's such a mess...

When I select the whole model, then I can't create a 6 sided mapping, not even 2 sided, and when I create a Atlas Mapping, all polygons are one big mess!

I hope someone knows what I should do instead!

The best bet is to make the uv-map in blender.
Nonetheless, it is work, and there is no automated way to do it in a satisfying way.
Atlasmapping is only good for a shadowmapping.
When using MED for the layout, you should use the 6sided method.
For this you should select the faces of the model like you did in the second pic, layout it, then select the next reasonable connection of faces, layout them, etc..

Hi!

If you want to use atlas mapping
open a copy of your model
clear all skins.
Select all the model (first step)
Create atlas mapping.
open editor
comme back to your model and select a small section.
return to the editor
Change the colour of the second box
and use fill selected
(the section that was selected will be different)
go back to MED and select another section......change colour...

Hope this helps smile
