2 kind of shadows possible? - 07/02/09 08:53
hi all there,
just a short question: i use stencil shadows in my game, mostly for static object like barrels and so on.
and now i want to ask, if it is possible to give the player a other kind of shadow, bcs i would need the old shadow, that is always in the same direction no matter if influenced by dynmaic light. i think it was called z-fail shadow?!
thanks!

Why not using decal shadow for static object and stencil shadow for the player?

I guess you mean, how can you use decal shadows while the shencil shadows are on. Simple!!

First, define the shadow image as an entity, Example:
ENTITY* dede_shadee = {type = mr_shadow.tga; flags = SHOW;}
Second, put this line in the entity's action:
my.shadow = dede_shadee; //replace dede_shadee by your entity's name

well, but i dont wanna use decal shadow, bcs i need shadow that stil "move" e.g. for the player if he walk etc.
hard to explain, but i mean the old shadows, i think it was A6 the "fake" ones.
