My favorites are DavidOC and Cronax. From c_move usage wise Cronax's demo has more features(all that ledge/rope grabbing,ladder/ivy climbing and that fall damage thing was neat, presentation and camera could be a lot better but movement looks pretty good)

Beginners' contest [Cheating?] - 11/21/09 08:21

What's with all those new users with 1 post voting for Cronax? Can any moderator check the IP?

Re: Beginners' contest [Cheating?] - 11/21/09 09:37

well it's that i made blog post about contest voting in Turkish community, but i afaik there is also votes for Davidoc's project from our community. They could check IPs, i believe all are diffrent, since nicknames are matching with diffrent usres from the community.

p.s. Contestants DeathKnt and WickWoody are also from Turkish community.

p.p.s. Plus it's %51 jury's decision after all.

Yeah, I bet that he doesn't know a simple word like that.

How about new rules for user that can voted must be having more than 20-30 Post, and have been registered for more than 8 month?,or conitec need to pick a jury/make jury team of their choices, and also user vote getting accountable but with this weight :

Jury Vote Weight : 60%
Forum User Vote Weight : 40%
Total Decision : 100%

By these it would be more preventing cheating and more fair result. If we continue like these, heck i would just make tetris/pacman clone and make a vote spam bot to gain good vote,In the end of the year i can have 5 'free' commercial edition grin.

Hey George,

I was just wondering... Since the extra edition is becoming free very soon, will the prize be a commercial edition next time?

Thanks.

I agree. It would make the contests a lot more fair, and less questionable.

reasonable but not logical. a "beginner" would not be a beginner if he/she were around for 8 months.
and it's also somethig like that alreday, juri makes the final decision.

Re: Beginners' contest [Cheating?] - 11/23/09 12:12

Don't worry, the jury will always sort the things out.
the_mehmaster: I don't have the info at this point, I'll have to ask JCL about it.

Re: Beginners' contest [Cheating?] - 12/01/09 09:36

The jury has decided the winner: Cronax. The camera could be better, but the c_move part of the code is solid. Congratulations and a warm thank you to all the participants, as well as to all the voters.
