Many (freeze) chrashes with v7.84.2 - 05/04/10 18:19
I'm wondering why nobody else did query this, yet - maybe something went wrong with the installation of v7.84.2 (trial) at my system.
At some unspecific (not yet analysed) code my screen freezes, when starting with the new 3dGS version.
I could't find out yet what exactly produce that crash, but I've a good example:
If you start "dogfight" from the new AUM 92 - doens't your screen freeze after the player plane flew a few pixels, so you have to close the game "manually"?!?
It works with v7.82.3 (free) - at my second computer ... didn't try each version at each computer, yet ... if you haven't that problem, I will...!

I don't think this belongs to the bug forum. But look in the manual under "troubleshooting" - there are some hints how to deal with PC problems.

I got the same problem. First i thougt there was something wrong with my scripts, but even when starting some scripts from the workshop the engine suddenly freezes.
For example when i tried to write a player_move action and used c_trace to align my model to the ground - the engine freezed on the beginning of the test.
After some time (1-2 minutes) the engine works properly...but i don't want to wait 2 minutes everytime i start a testrun.
I never had any problems like this with other programs. Also i got newest drivers etc. I even deactivated my Antivir (it says acknex.exe would be a virus).
Funny thing: if i delete just the c_trace row from my script it works properly. But there is no syntax Error or else in that row. I even tried to copy the function from workshop 24. (The standalone script from workshop 24 works properly though)
Edit: Shooter-Template from AUM-91 freezes after a few seconds

I'm having this same issue. I just installed the free trial and all of the tools seem to work fine. However, any time that I try to test run any of the sample programs that came with it... The sample program freezes after about a second or two. I just checked and my drivers are all updated.
Starting to look like this may be a bug of some sort.
