Noob question

What this means:

if(my.state)
{
...

I saw it in an old script where is my.state definded with one of skill but I do not know what that means. The only thing on my mind is (my.state) is the same as (my.state == 0)?

Good guess, but its the other way round. In C the boolean value FALSE is represented by 0, any other value is TRUE
=> if (x) is equivalent to if (x != 0)
