I understand that I will need a plugin to play *.mp4 videos in my game. Is there a link for that plugin? Also, when I create *.avi videos for GameStudio, is there a perfered CODEC?

Well, I could run mp4 files with media_play, IDK if I had to install the codec or if I had it from the beginning!

Concerning Codecs in Gamestudio the same considerations as to codecs in general should be applied. Gamestudio does nothing special that changes these general considerations. Keep licensing restrictions in mind!

I have windows 7, 64bit.
I just recovered all files after a BSOD.
Seems like I played *.mp4 in GameStudio before, but now, only *.avi.
I can play *.mp4 in windows media player, but they just don't show up in gamestudio
