Anything more definite on a possible Batman/Superman movie?

My brother made a good point the other day: this is the first time in the DC franchise history where they have strong versions of both these heroes at the same time. As he said, if they don't do it now, they may never get a chance to do it again.

I didn't really enjoy the new superman that much; the movie seemed to push that epic feel, and though the movie was well made, the industry is a little over-saturated with that type of film-making. The original movie is perfect in my opinion. I'll bet money Batman Begins, like Casino Royale (ohhh yes!), will live on in people's memories and Superman Returns will not. I can barely remember what happened in that movie...

~I'm pretty sure I'm uncertain.

Superman Returns has pretty much been forgotten; however there is a sequel coming with a real villain (enough of the Lex Luthor crap), Brandon Routh, and called "The Man of Steel." It was well made, but it was missing something. It was essentially a remake of Superman: The Movie, although Bryan Singer (director) said he was trying to capture that Superman I and II feeling.

There will be a Superman/Batman movie one day. Wolfgang Peterson was attached to direct a few years ago before Batman Begins was made, and they tried to do a Justice League movie (which was thankfully shelved...sounded terrible but that will get made too but recast and rewritten). As long as Bats gets himself an oversized pair of Kryptonite gloves and pounds the crap out of Supes (and wins as he always does), I'll be happy. wink

Is that sequel still in production or did they shelve that one as well? I heard they also want (or wanted?) to make a sequel based on Superman's son that has superpowers as well.

It never went into production, although it's still going to be made. It might have gone into preproduction. Hopefully, the kid makes no appearance. I wouldn't mind a Hulk style relaunch to get eliminate that subplot.

You can check out 12 clips from the movie at Youtube. Use "dark knight iesb" for your search.

Here's a new Joker clip that came out of nowhere and is 55-seconds long:

I'm glad this movie is finally being released (24th over here), seems like forever since they finished filming. Bale owned his role in Batman Begins and the few scenes I've seen from the Dark Knight Heaths performance is amazing, really looking forward to seeeing this.

Just got back from it. You have to see it in IMAX if you can. This movie will get a Best Picture nomination and a Best Supporting Actor for Ledger. There also might be a Best Director in their as well. It's a huge leap forward from Batman Begins, and it is the first truly epic "comic book film." Ledger's Joker is dead bang perfect and puts Nicholson's sorry goof ball antics to shame.
