I suggest for a 2500 poly model, not going above 500-600 vertex frames, it'll use 40mb or so in virtual memory, each 40mb or so in virtual memory increases loading time by around 1-4 seconds.

Actually, entities like the player can be preloaded into memory thus reducing load times of the levels (supposedly). Also, even if this wasn't taken into effect, the speed and type of hard drive as well as how fragmented it is affects load speed. Also, a 2500-poly model (usually about 1280 vertices) would only use about 7.7 MB in vertex animation for vertex positions. The frame names would only add on another 5 to 10 KB, depending on how long they are, hardly anything to 7.7 MB.
