I've tested this in the trial install (before the 6.4 upgrade) and normals show up just fine. (They are green; I did not change the color.) After the upgrade they do not show up using either Selected Normals or All Normals.

If it matters, I'm using the gxl2dx8a.dll's but the normals don't show using either (and textures don't show at all with the other dlls).

There are no problems other than this.

System:
XP pro sp2
P4 2.66 GHz, 1.11 GB RAM
NVidia GForce4 MX4000 driver v 9.1.3.1
MED version 6.814

Yes, Wladimir told me that the normals are not displayed anymore in MED. They were erroneously left in the menu - this will be fixed.

You don't need normals anymore. You can recognize the back side of a polygon from its color that you can set in color preferences.

And make sure "draw backfaces" is selected from the menus to make sure they are drawn. By default, they are a dark bluish-gray color.

I disagree with this. I found the normals to be very helpful as I could spot a flipped face very easily. Why remove it?

With the green line sticking out of it, it's easy to detect which direction a normal is facing. If that part of your model used the color set in the configuration for a back-facing polygon, it's utterly impossible to tell if it's correct or not. With the green line sticking out, it's easy to tell no matter what color your model's texture uses. Otherwise you have to either disable textured mode, or uncheck the "draw backfaces" option from the menu and at times, it can be tricky to find this.

Give us back our little green lines. We liked them a lot and they didn't need fixing.
