Hello, I am contributing a demo FPS game that I made for my own entertainment. It is mostly taken from AUM magazine. Not very original, perhaps, but I enjoy playing it when I need a break from serious stuff. You can download it at: KafiristanGame Just click on Kafiristan.zip to download. Here is a screenshot: The file is a bit over 22 Megs. I hope you have a bit of fun with it. Best regards,
Jim

Well just for a FUN game it can be fun ^^ So I don't need to give C&C to the level design and texture look,... One thing that kept on irritating me was the slow movement, the zooming in part is way to sensitive and when you are in sniper mode, there are two crosshairs But hé, it's just a plain fun game Cheers Frazzle

Double-barrelled sniper rifle? Very creative to surprise your enemies

OK guys, you got me on that one. I forgot about the red dot on the telescopic view. I probably should have erased it, but I guess my mind blocked it out. The green crosshairs are the accurate firing point. Ignore the red dot.
Lostclimate is probably right about it being a time waster -- but I prefer it to solitare......
Regards,
Jim

Hi Eplison, It sounds as if I am about to learn something new. You may have to spell it out in more detail, though. Honestly, I know little about shaders, simply because I am aiming at low-end machines that may not have great graphics cards. I made this demo the same way. The largest texture is 512X512, which does not sound all that big to me. Maybe the game is running slow and you assumed that it has a large texture, or am I missing something? I have run some of Steempipe's shaders as experiments, but I don't see much difference if all you want is a detail map (of course, his shaders are great for things like blendmaps and similar complicated effects). DaBroOzar -- I really don't know the advantage/disadvantage of a large detail map. My detail maps are in the range of 256X256. I appreciate the suggestions. Best regards,
Jim
