I've been using standard edition.
For my next game I need to play movies in a panel
so I'll have to get the commercial edition.

Can anyone point me to a GameStudio game
that demonstrates movies playing in a panel
so I can judge whether I want to make the upgrade or not?

Cant remember links, but it worked.
Upgrade, I have to say, playing movies isn't major reason.
I got my A6 because of shaders, LOD, terrain and screen resolution (exactly in this sequence).

Well.... I have a demo in signature but I dont remember wether or not it was published or if youll need com or higher to play it. I can tell you that it does exactally what you would expect... Plays an avi file....

Ive noticed no slow down in the movie itself or any distortion.... Obviously thats if the panel is the same size of the movie file to begin with.

Remember that youll be getting more then just the ability to play avi files tho with the update... I updated my 3dgs from standard to comm for the avi files,terrain and bones.

So if youll use all of them then Id say its worth the update... If the demo in my sig isnt compiled let me know and ill publish a copy so you can check it out yourself.

ChrisB postet a demo with such a technique once,
maybe he still has it hidden somewhere on his hdd.
