Hi Conitec,

on the beta page it says "Atlas Mapping" was planned for MED. Now I'm wondering about what that's supposed to be?

Thanks in advance and please excuse my ignorance

Atlas mapping is a mapping method that analyzes the polygons and normals and automatically generates an optimal UV mesh. This makes mapping much easier than the previous 2-sided and 6-sided mappings.

JCL, thanks for replying...wow! That sounds just great

By the way, are there still plans to implement a generator for tiled mappings as announced on the forecast? I know you can create tiled mappings by just scaling around in the Skin Editor, but if I remember that correctly you once stated an automated method was on the way?

Thanks for any clarification

*bump*
Anyone there?

Sorry if I'm seeming impatient... I just figured you were probably only looking at which user last posted in a certain thread and because the usual scheme for questions like mine is "question -> jcl clarification -> thank you"

Well, in this case, I appear to have another question -see above- thus I'm giving this a slight bump. Please excuse my extra dust

If you mean a volumetric mapping like in WED: Yes, this will also be possible in MED.

Exactly that's what I wanted to know. And fortunately this is as well just exactly what I wanted to hear! Yay!

Thanks a lot, jcl.
