I like it. This is a tough job. Not only the modelling, but unwrapping, painting and animating the arm and all fingers. I appreciate this.

Good job, Dan!

Hell yeah ^^

Why all this negative comments?! I think it's great! Nice model, nice texture.

I dont think it will help Dan to just say
"oh, waht a great model".

Critics are far more helpful, whenever they are reasoned, to improve a design.

Btw: I find that the skin looks too hand-painted.
If it fits the overall style of the game, thats ok.
But you might think about reducing the color-contrast of the skin,
especially the "wrinkles" on the hand.
This should look a bit smoother.

Ive only read one negative comment. The others were saying it was a nice model or giving opinions on what that person felt needed to be changed.

Of course this is just a personal opinion and as my mother always says... Opinions are like @$$holes everyone has one and most of them stink

Personally I think that the upper arm still looks stronger in comparison with the lower. However this could just be the point of view. Dan claims that it was modeled according to an accurate drawing and I take his word on that.

It doesnt look photorealistic and I beleive Dan knows that. However compared to alot of arms Ive seen designed for fps's this is by far one of the better ones.

Its poly count is not too high or too low and allows for important details to be shown with out unnesscary polys. The texture looks great as well and adds what the mesh doesnt. Such as creases in the fingers as well as the tendons on the back of the hand.

Id also like to see what it looks like from a first person view.

amazing... like...well... who cares?

That's just rude man.

Nice model Dan, but I would suggest giving the skin some fine details such as veins, hair, and skin texture. Even under low res skin, still could improve its look.

Very good.

That's sad it don't use a normal map
it's standard technique nowadays and bring a lot to low poly models, perhaps 3D engine of the client don't support normal maps ?

Its one of the most overused effect now..I dont see how this model would benifit from a normal map. MAYBE the glove, but really its just a waste of system resources to normal map such a thing.

Any ays dan the model looks great, what i personally dont like is the glove, it looks like it has folds, or creases... too many? I dont know but i just dont think i like the glove

Hell, Even I like this model, and we all know how I gripe about High poly models This is a great piece of work, and since the player never sees much more than a hand (depending on the weapon) normal maps and high poly usage would be a real waste.

I think the client understands this, and they should be very pleased with the results!

I don't know where you got a picture of my arm for reference... but it worked great! lol

Well, I am sure that's not my arm -- even my arm 40 years ago!
I am also impressed by the fine details. The texture mapping of the fingernails is first class. I have never been able to get that to look right. What is the size of the texture?
Nice job!!

Nonsense. Nearly all models will look better with normal mapping (if done correctly).
