Hiyaa,

I am currently making a GTA kind of game, set in a third world country.
You are squatter (haha) with no place to live, so you must do everything to survive. Murder, steal, snatch, beg, break in, or go to jail. Pls post suggestions so i can make the game better.

Here are 2 screenshots of the in-game map, but rendered with 3dsmax.

Pretty cool, I liek the idea. Few c+c:

-The texture on the blue building doesnt line up very well at all.
-Roofs of the slums are too nice and square. They should probably have more rust and rough edges.
-There should be more fly swatters in the world (wait, thats my scenario. damn bugs.)
-The name, Dark Rain, gives off a fantasy feel instead of a GTA style game. I don't know the story yet but thats my take on it.
-(IMO) You shouldn't put a render up at this point... or at any point until your ready to show off the final version. Can we see that shot without renders?

+You've done nicely so far. I like the feel of it- the telephone wires, gritty look to buildings, etc.

Little more work there would make it superb! And i just got the fly with my oblivion owners manual! Woot!

Anyways, nice job so far, and keep it up.

EDIt: I just saw the second photo [heh] and all I can say to that is, the roof ought to have a little more overhang.
And the surb shouldn;t be so big.

hehe, im gonna do all that, but im just started making the map. maybe 1/6 of the map. Ill do that later. Anyway, thnx for suggestions! Im making the map as low poly as possible. Is 12000 polys ok? 12k is poly count of this map.

Very interesting. It does need work though. where is the paint on the screet? the lane markers. the streets are to clean. Those actually look like pics from an upper slums, those areas here in Thailand are made out of discarded sheetmetal, complete with rust.

Looks like you used (too) much noise. The street looks shitty and the walls don't look like plaster (I assume that's what it shall be). Overall scene looks cool though.

I have to agree. You definitely used too much noise!
The textures don`t look final so I think it`s okay that the street looks too clean at the moment.
Most parts doesn`t even look textured (like the street).
Other than that it`s a good start.
I have to confess that don`t like the setting of the game (sounds a little bit too violent like postal) but I think this is a matter of taste.

While i dont like GTA, I think this could be a great game concept... especially with a large non-linear game world
