Has anyone got any ideas on Terrain LOD? I use a multitexture terrain shader and wanted to make a LOD system for it. If I can get some idea I can put together this system and post it here
LOD involves changing the texture depending on the distance from the camera, I need some advice on how to change the texture.
isnt that mip mapping? I think... key word there that its done automatically. Tho you may have to check a box in med somewhere... but I think its checked by default.
I see, but my RTS camera can go between 1000 and 3000 quants and at 1000 the terrain still looks [censored] The mipmaps were there already for some reason, and now that I got rid of them I notice no difference.
