Some of you may be aware that I'm creating a game creatin device. http://www.coniserver.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/687189/an/0/page/0#Post687189

Part of this will be able to make your own menus. This will be limited as it must go with what is done in the editor. However I'm am making a stand alone product "Panel Creator" which will allow you to make your own panels and give them your own functions.

You're able to make and see in real the panels you've made, the buttons you've added, the windows, hsliders, vsliders and digits, move them in real time as needed. Making life for you so much easier as well. This thing will save me a lot of time in the future as I make panels for my own games.

I would like to hear people's feed back on this. Is this worth selling or just keeping it as an in house tool?

No screen shots as this is all programmer art, which makes me cry if i didn't try to make it look like programmer art.

I would really appriciate a tool like that, but only if it has a lot of options and if it would be able to create a lot of diferent results.

Let me hear the options you want. While I'm making this editor I'm seeing a lot of things I wished I had already had to make the panels to make the panel editor.

Hi!

This idea is the best in the last days .
I've made up my mind on what I would expect in such a tool:

(all in all each panel/sub-panel-definition should be set in/visible with on call)
- seeting tha basic resultion for the menu
- adding an optional automatic resizing of the objects with changing resolution
- setting a backgroung (level, image (changing image-list?), movie)
- setting/placing/defining static text
- setting/placing sub-panels (edited)
- setting/placing buttons (defining images for all three states)
- jumping between panel-definitions (menu->submenu->back) (by buttons)
- setting/placing slider (def. style/variables/ranges)
- setting/placing/defining digits and thair values
- using text-objects (text-lists) in static text changed by buttons/sliders
- optional fading (in/out) of the whole panel/just sub-panels)
- ...

At least - if it will be possible to drag ´n drop a menu with it (and have a standard interface for calling own functions it's worth money (because it can save the user more money)...

Great idea at all...

OK - You're right!
I've never used it in fact of it is too difficult to use (or maybe I'm to lazy/stupid to learn ?).

Indeed, I like the idea for a panel creator, however if it's the same wheel, just invented twice ... well, then I don't know ...

Cheers
