The reason for multitexture terrain shaders is that you can create very large graphics with very detailed zones without creating one very large tga file for the whole terrain.
But I guess your panel would be 1024x768 in size. In this case you would not need this multitexture shader - you can modify the texture directly by script if you need to. And you would do this simply once. While your shader does this once per frame!

I need to experiment something, I need to make a minimap without making a view and placing it high. It can have unlimited possibilities, so I need to add a shader to a bmap.
