Dejobaan Games, LLC is looking for a concept artist to help develop a revolutionary visual style for its next video game, Galaxy Rage.

We'd like an artist to create concept sketches for in-game environments using geometric patterns, organic shapes, and contrasts between darkness and light. This look would draw on the styles of Escher, Dali, and Ernst; and (in the world of computer graphics) the Demoscene. Work would involve:

- Dialogue - A back-and-forth with us via e-mail to establish a style for environmental elements such as terrain, sky, architecture, and other structures. (See the above image for our prototype. We'd also provide a collection of source material.)
- Concept sketches - Based on the ongoing dialogue, you'll create a series of concept sketches for us to use as a guide for the in-game artwork.

This is a paid, short-term contract. Work will be done remotely (if you're in the Worcester-Cambridge, MA area, we'd love to have an initial discussion in person). If you're interested, drop us a note to discuss the scope and cost of such a project:

very very interesting. Do you research also in graphical communities? You already got a very cool style, but it´s right to get better results by using/mixng/getting ideas of multiple people.

Yeah; we're mostly poking around online artist communities. I figured we should look here too, since a) there are some talented artists lurking around, and b) we'd like to let the 3DGS community know what we're up to, as we're likely to seek some tech-oriented help in the future.

damn, if i just could draw better and be more creative :x working on Galaxy Rage would be awesome o_O

I love crystaline geometric games like yours,
good luck for your hunt for a concept artist.

You have probably thought about this, but it would be interesting to see games with this style incorporating subtle new fx using latest shader technologies.
such as if a line moves in a straight line it creates a motion blur trail etc.

It would be amazing to make a game based on the book Flatland by Edwin A Abbot.
Wish I had time and money to do it! Got to finish a personal project between paid work before starting on another!
