Hello! I started this topic, to find a coder, for my very fast project. Yes, I really need coder as soon, as possible.
I have a very small amount of time, to complete the game. As I know, there are a lot of good coders at this forum.
I will tell about the game, to let coder to decide will he help, or not. First of all, I want to sorry for my poor English, and I won’t pay for this work, because I don’t think it is very difficult for really good C-script coder. But please, try to help me, don’t be so cruel, I need your understanding of my needs.

So, the game haven’t got title, but it will be soon created. The genre of the game is a car-destruction. Have you ever played Twisted Metal or Vigilate 8?

Since I don’t understand how to code, (even after reading a lot of tutorials) I need this things:



1. As I mentioned before, the game is a survive racing with explosions, fire, rockets, bullets, etc. In one word: weapons, cars and rock-and-roll! So, I would like coder to write some kind of car physics. I tried to use code from AUM, but it is poor. Cars in that code were like toys, not like cars. There was no physic… I don’t need super physic like for example in Gran Turismo, or Need for Speed. Better to create something like Twisted Metal or Vigilate 8, than to create something like Tetris.


2. Now, I will try to describe all details from main menu to the main game process


Main Menu. It must consist of “New Game”, “Options”, “Credits”, and “Exit”. Simple task, isn’t it?
“Options” consist of Video Resolution (where we can change the resolution of the game), Sound Volume, and Music Volume.
“Credits” and “Exit” – no comments. 


When we press “New Game”, text intro starts playing on the image background. After playing intro, the main game action starts…

Before we can play, we must select driver with his car on the “Select your car” screen. Like Mortal Kombat.
There are only 5 characters, I am working on creating their models.

After choosing our player, we are in game! So, how does it look like?


The game started not in the car and then fast destruction. You appear on the map like a driver, without your car, you and your enemies must find car. Driver can enter only his own car. Driver who hasn’t found his car before enemies, dies, and for him, game over. For example, if on one map 4 drivers and cars, and 1 driver haven’t found his car in time, he dies, and the game continues with 3 cars. No one can get out of the car once he found it… And after “car seeking element” is over, the main car destruction is started.

Probably, you have already understood, the main goal of the game is to destruct your opponents and survive. Old school Twisted Metal… The game must be simple in weapons, only 3 weapons will be OK, and one special move to each car. 4 weapons in total. Weapons are stored in Weapon Boxes, which situated in each part of the map.
These weapons besides Special Weapon, are Rocker Launcher, Fire Thrower, and Machine-Gun. Besides weapon boxes there will be Health Boxes.

There will be only 3 levels, because as I said, I haven’t got a lot of time. But don’t worry about time, I won’t hurry you, but as faster you will complete this not very difficult (even without menus, only main game), I will be more happy. As you know, I am doing almost all models and levels, so I only need to find somebody, who can code all things that I mentioned. Really, I hope on your kindness!

To be truely honest I can't see very many potential programmers jump at this opportunity of so vigorous a task for no money at all. I would personally say your best bet is to continue to read through Tutorials, AUM, Manual, and other peoples code on the forums and actually take the time to try using them and such.

But like I said, I doubt you'll get anyone of a great caliber (many 3DGS users) to do this sort of work. Especially physics, which of course are no easy task in themselves. By the way, do you have a Professional version of 3DGS to support these physics? If so what version do you have to support them? (ex: 6.22 or 6.31 or 6.4)

And one last thing, it's kind of awkard seeing someone write this in their post:

I don't think it's a very difficult task, but the most difficuct is to write physic. Maybe, someone can post here a modified code for Car code from AUM? Just with maybe only arcade physic, not like real car, but not like Nintendo Games, when press UP car is moveing but when you release it doesn't still moving with more and more slowing speed, it simply stops. Almost the same thing with AUM car code. I watched Car Physics Movie from one of the AUM releases, where Physic code was posted. I thought, test level in AUM code would be with car, but car only in movie... Maybe someone can modify AUM Car Code, or Physic Car code?

I didnt like this, just want to say.

Anyway, its a BIG task you asking for.

And...

I wrote my own car racing phisics and will finish it soon with collision with the environment, but would not release it for no money, it took me months to write. ( and yes, it works on models, sprites, blocks, bananas etc. )

LOL , your whole post is a complete joke man. You clearly state you dont understand how to code even after reading a lot of tutorials , and then you state , "I don't think it's a very difficult task, but the most difficuct is to write physic. " Why dont you read some more tutorials untill you do understand how to code , and then code it yourself , and then come back and tell us how hard or easy it was, at least then you will know what your talking about. You are asking someone to write a lot of code for a game that doesnt even have a name , you need at least a full design doc or some awesome art to interest anyone , saying I am making a fast and easy to make game like twisted metal , I need this and that coded shows you have no idea of what your talking about and no one will take you seriously. There is even a car code in the templates , and some AUM code , and Newton Game Dynamics (free physics plugin) code , so it shouldnt be too hard to get started. Good luck.

I am repeating once again, I DON'T Need everything that I mentioned in the first post, because I haven't got time. I need only to have cat to start slowing speed when release acceleration button, and let cars throw away when they crash with each other, so I must modify AUM Car code, but I don't know what to modify exactly. That's all! I don't think it's a difficult task for GOOD coder, to simply modify code to let car to slow speed and throw out when crashing.

ok, heres what you do, go to the aum resources, look for the 4 part shooter tutorial, and download that, make the game along with the tutorial, when thats finished, you should have the basic knowledge you need to get through all the other tutorials, and to start working on your own game.

It is yes a big task even for an excelent coder.

make a simple vehicle movement script is far easy, sure. But to make all the behaviour you will need, its not a simple vehicle movement. Collision must be handled and its effects also.

I suppose the car will need to show some marks of crashes, be deformed, loose parts, and so on.

To you have a fair idea of what is needed at all to acomplish a minimal car crash game, the best is do what lostclimate pointed.
