a steam engine would be cool. then i can recreate the key scene in back to teh future 3:

"marty you have to learn to think four dimensional. there is nob ridge now, but there will be in 1985.
the train pushes the delorean over the track, until it reaches 88miles per hour. we get transported back to the future and glide over the now finnished bridge."

only the texture of the diesel engine was completely hand-painted in Paint Shop Pro. All other model skins are a mix of photos and hand-painted elements.

Catalogues of scaletrain manufacturers come in very handy here. The same applies btw. to WWII models. You can get the best skin resources if you look for photos of world war II scale models.

I have started writing a modelling and level design tutorial that will guide you through the creation of levels and models for a shooter (the only thing I can do as I am an idiot when it comes to scripting) and it will also include a skinning tutorial.

Yes, I've seen the movie.. I know this scene. I started making the skin for the steam engine today.. but it will surely take me few days to complete the model.. so please be patient :-)
