start with a very small project (no, a MMORPG isnt small and easy ) Even PacMan is hard. I started with a pong its really easy try it. And always have a look at the code you find in projects that are posted in the showcase section. nipx ahh.. aztec was faster does yoour gravity now work?

I've read the workshops and the manual...still feel i'm missing alot of important syntax
Dan1, do workshops instead. try to recreate something (download AUMs and complete "Rollem", "Planet Survivors" or "Morrowing", for example. can't remeber, may be pong is there too. try to create your variant, use it as the base and try to extend it, etc.) while reading the manual from time to time. your real knowledge grows when you do something, not read (beginner knows how to do something somehow, master knows how to do it in many different ways and guru knows why these ways are wrong, because he already tried ). And good luck

pong is a really simple game. No big scripting stuff if you do it in 3d. (in AUM they did with panels) a few ideas: Move the ball in a while(1) loop with c_move. In it's event function (look up in the manual what events are) let it bounce off with vec_to_angle(my.pan, bounce). One player moves with key_w and key_s the other with key_cuu and key_cud (cu=cursor). If you create a pong you wont learn 'cool' things as shooting... but general and useful stuff as moving and simple events. For fps best tutorial is the 4-part at AU resources as mentioned by lostclimate. nipx
