I think it would be nice to be able to scroll (with mousewheel) in the textures.
That would be easier than grabbing the little slider on the right side.

I like to keep scripting simple, life is hard enough as it is.

Frits

You know, I don't know why Conitec does not listen. It has been spoken of in the past, but that little, tiny scroll bar is a royal pain because it is so small.

"a royal pain", hehe. Nice expression, I couldn't have found a better one
In other words: I second that. I my opinion, WED's whole sidebar is rather unconvincing. You should at least be able to move it to another location without any problems...

There's a small solution to this problem although it's far from perfect. Simply scale/expand the current texture window fully down untill all textures are within the windows screen. This way you can use the standard windows bar to scroll instead of the tiny one. If done correctly you can't even scroll with the tiny bar since it's as tall as the whole texture window.

Still I second this request, being able to use the scrollwheel or cursor keys to select textures would be a good idea,

Cheers

Oh yes, this is a very good idea.

Well, listening only makes sense when you also listen to the response! I have explained often how to adjust WED parameters, like the scroll bar size. Just edit WED's configuration file (data\options.scr) with SED, and modify:

;scrollbar width
TV_SBSIZE = 7 ; enter a higher value here

This was implemented, I remember at your request, a very, very long time ago. However, mouse wheel scrolling is certainly also a good idea.

I am glad to know that there is a solution. However, the DEFAULT for the scrollbar should not be so small. In other words, WED should follow the standards when it comes to things like scrollbar size and then the end use can adjust to another size if they desire. The end user should never have to adjust a UI element to make it configure to a standard.

Mouse wheel support is for sure sensefull.

Well, while we're on the texture managment of WED: I'd love to see a filter edit, like it can be found in Valves Hammer Editor, where you can type in text and only textures that have the entered string in the name are displayed.
