ok, here's an idea that worth a shot!
in max, copy frame 1, and duplicate it to the 2nd frame (creating a new frame inbetween the current frame 1 and 2). so you have 2 frames 1, before the animation starts.
now, export, and inside MED, remove the first frame completely. that might work.
