I have a problem with fog_start and fog_end. Acording to the manual there is no fog closer then fog_start and it gets foggy beyond fog_end.
I made the following function
Code:

function fog1_event()
{
d3d_fogcolor1.red=80;
d3d_fogcolor1.green=80;
d3d_fogcolor1.blue=80;
fog_color=1;
camera.fog_start=100;
camera.fog_end=500;
}

I call it in main and expect that its get foggy at 500, but the fog is always at a distance for about 1500 quants in stead of the camera.fog_end=500;
Why can't I get the fog any closer to the camera then the 1500 quants?

I like to keep scripting simple, life is hard enough as it is.
Regards,
Frits

It might be your g-card, but I doubt it...

Your fog should be at a gradient from 100(close-thin) - 500(far-thick) quants from the camera...

I found the problem, somewhere in my script was an action that overrides my new values. I had completely forgotten that action.
Thanks anyway for your answer.

I don't mean to bring up an old topic, but it was relevant to my question. Using his fog function above only makes terrain and models dark in the distance, at least that is what it does for me. I am looking for "real" fog, the fog that you have a whitish tint in the sky and lose track of distance. Why can I not get that? Or is there a better way. I want me effect to be as if I woke up and look outside on a foggy morning.
