You have to uncheck all "materials" and check and add all textures in manage skins. But its still not what I expect. So I'm waiting for replys too

"If You uncheck all materials the ship becomes unskinning." rrr... just uncheck "material setup", _not_ "material setup", "effects setup" _and_ "texture"... ok?

it contains 2 dominion ships, one with material setup (dom1.mdl), one without (dom2). i'd like you to put them both in a level next to each other and make a screenshot. i'm curios how it looks for you.

With your models it works i can see the skin MED, but not with my ones....

of course it can be be done.



steps:
1. med cannot read jpg textures, about the engine i'm not sure. however, take all your skins and save them as tga, dds or bmp.
2. import you model. whne the dialog box pops up "skinA.jpg", choose the (e.g.) *.tga skin with the same name from the list.
3. go to vertices selection mode, then tools->meshtester->merge to close your mesh, otherwise it will be lit very ugly.
4. in the edit->skin manager, you have to set every alpha value in the "material setup" to 100, by default, it's 0 (fully transparent).
5. save and add to your scene.

the screenshot above shows that it works.

I can see the skins without doing the tga stuff too...
But not ingame....
I'll try your hint tomorrow, but i think it'll work
