It isnt a terrain, its a polysoup.

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but what is a polysoup?

well, it's all there, but it simply misses something...
I dunno, speeding was what i kind of was missing here, it doesnt look like he's going fast...

furthermore, i liked it, the different particles oin different terrain parts and stuff, keep it up.

regards,

@carloos
I will create the first raw Character Editor version this month as well as other features. I will tell you more after the next milestone. @trees: between 85-150 fps with ~210 trees.

@frazzle
Yes, drifting is being scheduled.

@doom
Thanks. The song will be part of the soundtrack, so it was intended to be aired in the video

@frank
the environment has been broken into sectors, or as I call them, "chunks". Each chunk is being saved as MDL file and aligned in WED / GEdit. So even the landscape can take full advantage of the ABT renderer, LOD and individual UV skins.

@dennis
Speeding is limited to kinda realistic values, though with energy packs you can achieve temporarily speed ups as well as maybe speed arrows.

@mercuryus
cool video. But your karts are moving way too fast - though, it doesnt matter, because it looks like it has a cool fun factor

Looks really good, cant wait to see more of it...

as for "including" drifting.. really (if this was to be realistic ) the physics shouldn't be altered in any ways.. just the "drivers" technique.
Though this looks more like an arcade style type game, so that doesnt matter... just a small thing that always bugged me personally about 99% of games

Love it man, its gonna be goood!
Best part for me was the cart going back (at the end) and cruising thru dust from the prior run.

A map like this might be enhanced with some jump areas, water obstacles, trees or branches falling off, wild wind storms perhaps and man, I could go on forever ( exagerated of course but hey...)

there's seams between the road and the rest of the terrain (at 40 secs and 1 min 40 secs they're especially visible). hope no one's mentioned them yet...

looks very promising otherwise!

well its looks ok for.. alpha status?
but there is always one problem with fun racer...
they are NEVER better than mario kart.
and the game, in this status, just looks like a poor mario kart rip off (driving with a kart and the item boxes with questionmarks on it).
but we will see the end results

oh and the intro sounds,when the A7 logo appears, reminds me of the wii menu sounds
